Orestis Papaioannou Music theory / composition
Orestis Papaioannou was born in Sitia, Greece, in 1993. He took his first steps
in music theory and clarinet at the Edessa music school and the state conservatory of Thessaloniki. He then completed a master's degree in musicology with specialisation in composition at the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki (class of prof. Christos samaras) and a second master's degree with concert exams in composition at the Lübeck Academy of Music (class of prof. Dieter mack). He is currently a doctoral student at the Hamburg Academy for Music and Drama, where he is researching hybrid vocal techniques in contemporary staged music.
He has won several prizes in international composition competitions and his music has been performed in many countries and has been broadcasted by the national German and Greek national Radio.
Since 2022 he has been teaching music theory at the Berlin Academy for Music .(AfM-Berlin)
