Su, Cong´s compositions which have been performed at festivals and concerts by radio and orchestras also include music for 5 operas, 3 ballets, 2 dance pieces, 1 musical, 25 movies and TV, and for 2 stage plaies. His film, theater, ballet or pop song compositions have been used by Bernardo Bertolucci ("The Last Emperor"), Jackie Chan, Wayne Eagling, Janusz Glowacki, Hans Neuenfels, Masapiro Shinoda, John Dew, Chen Shizheng etc. More than thirty awards, among them the Oscar for the Best Original Music, 2nd prize of the ISCM International Composition Competition in memory of the 100th anniversary of the death of Franz Liszt and many more have been bestowed upon him.
Su graduated with a bachelor´s degree in composition in Beijing and a master´s degree in composition in Munich.
From 1989 until 1991 Su gave lectures on music theory and music analysis to the opera director class of August Everding and to the ballet director class of Konstanze Vernon, and on media composition at the Munich State Musikhochschule.
From 1991 until 2022 Su has become professor of media composition at the Film Academy of State Baden-Wuerttemberg, in Stuttgart. From 1993 until 2022 his department cooperated with the Stuttgart State Musikhochschule.
