Mzia Wulf-Jajanidze is a native Georgian who began her artistic career at the age of eight with a performance with the symphony orchestra of her hometown, Kutaisi. She received her education as a scholarship holder from various prestigious foundations, including the Elisabeth Leonskaja Foundation, the foundation of the Georgian President E. Shevardnadze, the Helene Rosenberg Foundation, and most notably, the Adelhausen Foundation. Until her move to Germany in 2006, she studied with Prof. Tengiz Amirejibi at the State Conservatory in Tbilisi, and later at the Freiburg University of Music, where she graduated with honors under Prof. Michael Leuschner.
Characteristic of Jajanidze's artistic career as well as her repertoire is the presence of solo and chamber music, opera, song, and ballet - a versatility that is also reflected in her successes. She received the Silver Medal at the Spring Friendship International Art Festival in Korea, won 2nd Prize at the Arthur Lepthien Competition in 2007, 1st Prize at the C. Bechstein University Competition for Piano Baden-Württemberg in 2009, and 2nd Prize at the International Piano Competition Palma de Mallorca in the same year. She recorded Irish, Scottish, and Welsh songs for the 2007 Beethoven Complete Edition (Brilliant Classics), among others. In the fall of 2017, her latest solo CD featuring works by J. Haydn, Fr. Chopin, A. Skryabin, and others was released by Musicom in Münster.
Since 2019, Mzia Wulf-Jajanidze has been living and working in Berlin. She regularly performs in Germany and internationally, and has been heard in France, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Greece, and Korea.
