• Born in New Mexico, USA
• Vocal studies with Prof. Louis Cunningham, Dr. Barbara Doscher, Chamber Singers Gerhard Hüsch, Gerard Souzay, Renato Cappechi and Ralph Herbert at the University of Colorado in Boulder, USA
• First engagements in Germany as a lyric tenor at the Gelsenkirchen Music Theater and at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden
• Regular guest at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, at the Opéra Bastille and Opéra Châtelet in Paris, at the Zurich Opera House and at the Nederlands Oper Amsterdam
• Appearances at well-known festivals such as the Berliner Bachtagen, the Berliner Festwochen, the festivals in Salzburg, Ludwigsburg and Schwetzingen, at Mostly Mozart New York, at the Haydn Festspiele Eisenstadt, Wien Modern and the Mozartwoche Salzburg as well as at numerous other festivals in Europe and North America , Japan and Israel
• Collaboration with well-known conductors such as Nicolaus Harnoncourt, Roger Norrington, Helmuth Rilling, Peter Schreier, Gennadi Nikolajewitsch Roshdestwenskij, Charles Dutoit, Sir Charles Mackerras and Jesus Lopez Cobos

• Extensive repertoire of over 75 opera roles, more than 200 oratorios, around 1500 songs, including 47 complete cycles
• Artistic director of the Musikherbst Wiesbaden, which he founded in 1992
• Numerous radio and CD recordings for Dreyer-Gaido, TACET, Hannsler Verlag, Deutsche Grammophon, Teldec and Channel Classics
• Direction of various music courses at the University of Colorado and the University of Oregon as well as vocal lecturer at the International Bach Academy Stuttgart since 1993.
• Since 1995 professor for singing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin
• Since 2005 professor for singing at the Zurich University of the Arts in Zurich
